Experience Matters. Judgment Matters More.
For more than three decades, I have worked in construction and real estate development, helping owners, developers, investors, and organizations navigate projects involving significant investment, complex decisions, and competing priorities.
Today, as Managing Principal of The Fond Organization, I bring that experience to Project Due Diligence & Risk Advisory—helping clients evaluate project information, identify potential risks, and understand what needs further attention before making significant commitments.
My perspective comes from working through the realities of development and construction: budgets that change, schedules under pressure, incomplete information, and decisions whose consequences extend well beyond the immediate task.
A Career Built Around Responsibility
My background spans executive construction leadership, owner’s representation, development oversight, and project recovery across residential, commercial, healthcare, and hospitality projects.
Over the years, my role has evolved from managing the work itself to examining the broader picture: understanding the owner’s objectives, assessing project readiness, anticipating challenges, and coordinating the people responsible for delivering the outcome.
Throughout that work, one principle has remained consistent:
Protect the client’s interests as if they were my own.
That means asking difficult questions when necessary, identifying gaps in the information, and being candid about what is known and what remains uncertain.
Practical Experience. Focused Questions.
Construction rarely follows a perfectly straight line. Conditions change. Costs move. Decisions are delayed. Problems emerge that were not apparent when the original plans were prepared.
Experience helps me look beyond the headline numbers and ask practical questions:
- Does the budget reflect the proposed scope?
- Are the schedule assumptions realistic?
- What information is missing or inconsistent?
- Which issues could materially affect the owner’s decision?
- What requires clarification or review by a specialist?
Through FOND, my advisory focus is to translate that review into clear observations, prioritized concerns, and practical next steps.
Respect for the People Behind the Project
Some of the most capable professionals I have worked with wore hard hats instead of neckties.
Successful projects depend on people who solve problems, communicate honestly, and take pride in their work. My approach remains grounded in respect for those people and an understanding of the challenges they face.
That perspective matters when reviewing a project. Useful advice must account for how construction actually gets done.
Leadership Begins With Clarity
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping clients bring clarity to complex decisions.
Whether reviewing a proposed development, examining concerns about an active project, or advising an owner on the next step, I aim to provide an experienced, candid perspective grounded in the available information.
Trust is earned through sound judgment, clear communication, and a willingness to ask the questions that matter.
